- Wilson Tai was born in 1978 and died on October 6, 2020. He was Shaun Tai's older brother.
- He grew up in Lafayette, California, started high school at Acalanes, and made a life in the East Bay.
- He helped start East Bay Bike Party in Oakland and gave up his car (a Volvo S70 T5, sold in November 2009) to ride a bike every day.
