A Pushin' The Bay TV interview with a Bay Area hip hop legend, Clyde Carson

Before the algorithm, there was Pushin’ the Bay.

Pushin' The Bay began in 2006 with one mission: put Bay Area hip hop on the record, told by the people who built it. It grew into a media house with three arms: Pushin' The Bay TV, an online series of long-form interviews; PTBTV Records, a home for the music; and Pushin' The Bay Productions, original content made with the culture, for the culture.

Forever hustlin'.

At the center are two pioneers. Ray Luv performed alongside Tupac in Strictly Dope, and his 1995 debut Forever Hustlin' reached No. 21 on Billboard's Top R&B and Hip Hop Albums chart. Emcee T, an entrepreneur, producer, and host, helped bring Bay Area hip hop to local television and the early web. Pushin' The Bay treats their stories as history, because they are.
